Mineral and Chemical Composition of Magnetic and Non - Magnetic Fractions Obtained From Feed Coals Using Dry Magnetic Separation Technique

The mineral and chemical composition of magnetic (tailing fraction) non – (clean coal products from the dry separation samples with high ash sulfur contents obtained Çanakkale Çan lignite (S1) Manisa Kula Pabuçlu (S2) were investigated in this study. feasibility technique for minerals matrix was identified as function types particle sizes. depends on fragments being weakly diamagnetic, while most present are to moderately paramagnetic. Three sizes (coarse-, medium-, fine-sized) feed their non-magnetic fractions separated characterized. influence type efficiency determined by recovery tailing S1 S2 lignites. quite lower than lignite. When fine-sized used, highest compared other compositions include typically mica, smectite (clay mineral), gypsum, kaolinite pyrite, quartz, plagioclase. results showed that Permroll High-Intensity Magnetic Separation method calorific value low content at medium-sized more efficient sample sample.
